Will Adam become the main character of the Young and the Restless?
Since Victor is the main character of the show right now and has been for several years, do you see Adam becoming the main character of the show in the future when Eric Braeden decides to retire or is seen less on screen? I have read that many people believe that Adam and Heather are the next Victor and Nikki, leading me to believe that Adam might be the main focus of the show.

I don’t think they plan that far in advance, and even if they did they do change writers fairly frequently so the plans could always change – even in the short term.
But, if the actor who portrays Adam, Chris Engen, decides to remain on Y&R for a very long time, I could see that happening. I think he is a good actor and keeps getting better at his craft. If he and Heather start a family and he is able to lead a major company in GC in the future, then I think that would indicate that they are going in that direction.

no I don’t think so…. I think it will be Nick and Victoria and who ever they are involved with…. or maybe Billy since they are bringing him back

I hope not! I’d rather see Nick and Sharon or Phyllis as the next Victor and Nikki. Maybe Adam will grow on me.

Anything is possible on a soap. I would think it would be Nick that would become the main character. But I don’t want him going back to Sharon, that would be a bad move, but she is alot like Nikki she thinks she is better then other people, she cant think on her own, she has no opinions, she needs a man to tell her what to do. Look how she is with Jack. That is exactly how Nikki was with Victor.

I was one of the few to think Adam & Heather would be the next power couple on Y&R, but since his dismissal at Newman Enterprises… I only see Adam digging his own grave, teaming with Brad and Jack . The latter of the two will stay main characters on the show BUT Adam not being liked by many… I just cant see them keeping him around for the next 15-20 years ( I hope ) as most has been.
I would LOVE to see Nick & Phyllis be the next ” super couple ‘ in Genoa City and if Nicholas doesn’t stay with Phyllis in the years to come,,,maybe his next wife ( BUT not Sharon )
I’m thinking that the writers’ will make Nicholas a bit more aggressive so Adam being a Newman wont take over Victors title as Big-Boy of Genoa City.

Good question but I doubt it. Nick is the more logical choice as he is his father’s first son. He has been on the show for years and has a loyal following. He is also very handsome, and is taking over his father’s place as the heartthrob on the show. Adam is a filler character, just like Heather. They aren’t interesting enough, nor do they have enough longevity to pull off main focus status.

I could be wrong, but l think that’s why they named him Victor jr in the first place, l mean Victor ain’t no spring chicken nor may he desire to stay on as long as Mrs C in his character, so maybe.

I think Jack and Victor will always be the top of the heap on Y&R- their ongoing power struggle always comes back around. The women in their lives come and go and come and go but it always seems to come back to these two characters.

I don’t think they have thought that far ahead yet…but then again you might be right I dont know. I really hope not though, Adam really gets on my nerves but he may grow on me. I would like it to be Nick, but not really with Phyllis (she just annoys me).
